Salinger, J.D.

This is an excellent site for high school students and teachers. "A synopsis and critical reviews provide writing and research ideas."  "Teachers have several lesson plans to select from, which include a wide range of activities—from vocabulary to higher order questions."  There are lots of resources that are clearly marked and easy to get to, mostly through links to other sites: a radio program, newspaper reviews, page index, essays, a biographical sketch, articles about the author and more.

While there are no short cuts here for teachers, "the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) are great," and are organized by topic. "Foskett, the site's creator, has also provided bibliographic information and brief synopses of known Salinger interviews." Navigation is a bit cumbersome but worth the effort.  Salinger's ongoing efforts to protect his privacy and his writing are explored in detail.  References to other works abound, many of which are available from Amazon.com via links from this site.  "Foskett's passion for Salinger" is obvious.  "The site is suitable for middle through high school students."
