"Cora Unashamed" was filmed early in 2000 by ALT Films, entirely on location in the area of Iowa in which Langston Hughes set the story.  Regina Taylor, Cherry Jones, and CCH Pounder head the cast, under the direction of Deborah M. Pratt.  Marian Rees produced from an adaptation of Hughes' story by Ann Peacock.
